The Amos Review

The Amos Review has been published.

For many people, it will be difficult reading.

It tells a story of a maternity and neonatal system under enormous pressure. It reflects the experiences of women, families, communities and staff. It acknowledges pain, frustration, courage, dedication and the urgent need for improvement.

People will respond to the review in different ways.

Some will be grieving. Some will be angry. Some will be fearful. Some will be exhausted. Some will be hopeful.

Taking action is now essential, yet it is important to create space for people to read, reflect and digest what the review is telling us. Then we need to decide how we implement the recommendations — not just nationally, not just organisationally, but personally too.

Join the conversation — 30 July 2026

On 30 July 2026 we will open Amos into Action — your independent, national online conversation. Together we will explore what needs to start, stop or change to make the Amos recommendations a reality.

Our promise

This conversation is designed differently.

Too many people have experienced recommendations that never become reality. Too many people have contributed their views without seeing what happened next.

  • We will listen carefully and analyse what we hear rigorously.
  • You will get to see everything — we will publish what we hear and the actions that follow.
  • You will get to check, challenge and enhance what we publish.
  • The purpose of Amos into Action is to help create meaningful and visible consequence from a critical conversation.
